" ' c Tbe Chairman said they ahonld faoe tha matter properly, and, if it were reoognised that the werk was a necessity, a speoial rate should be made and tha money , need In making the road complete as far as it would go. The County Council was in no better poaltlon than the Board, and If they took over the road a speoial rate would be neoessary, and the cost the same to the Tha rate of a would give about L 450. Mr Todd said he would be no party to the rate unless the outlay were made as part of completing the whole. He thought however, that a general rate should be strack, as he saw great difficulty in levy* ing a speoial rate. The Chairman thought if the road were made the boundary of the EuGeld and Waiareka eubdivlsions, it would save a lot of unpleasantness in the futuro. Mr T?odd gave notice of motioU that'ia general rate of id be struok.ln all the subdivisions, hall the proceeds td feo' to making the Coalpit road..
