At the annual meeting of the dairy factory delegates to-day, it was raeolvea to Invite tenders from the three dlreet steamer oompanies, also the P. »nd O. and Orient Oompanies, for the oarriage of 775 tons Southland cheese and a quantity of butter to London next season, to be carried in chambers in which the temperature is not to exceed 80deg. Tendera ate also to be Invited for the supply of Umber for cheese boxes from all faotorlea. A. speoial exhibition of faotory made cheese was resolved on. General approval waa expressed of oheese of 601b, and light id ooloor, as the best for export, the experience of the delegates being that the lighter the colour the better waa the priee obtained. It was resolved to petition the Government to mako a condition In the mail contract by the dlreot steamers for the oarriage of dairy produce at reasonable rates.
