In the crioket match against the past and preient of Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the Australians, in their first innings, made 298, the highest scorers being Bannerman (76) and Turner (CO). At the close r.f the day's play, the Universities had loat five wiokets for 54 runs. Turner took three wickets for 14 and Ferris one for 38. deceived August 31, at 1.30 p.m. London, August 30. The cricket match, Past and Present of Oxford and Cambridge against the Australian Eleven ended in a draw. The third test match of the Australian Eleven against All-England began, aa originally arranged, to-day, at Manchester, it having been found unnecessary to alter the date as proposed a short time ago. Mr Grace captained the All-Eogland team, and, having won the tosß, decided to bat. The wicket, owiog to (he recent heavy rains, was very soft. At the luncheon adjournment the Englishmen had lost 2 wickets for 35. There was only a moderate attendance of spectators, owing to the unfavorable weather.
