WELLINGTON. December 36, The weather to-day was fine for the holiday, but a strong wind was blowing, whioh interfered with harbor excursions. The excursion to Pioton was abandoned owing to the boisterous weather. The prinoipal attraction in town was the sports on tho Bisin Raservo, which were attended by 6000 people. A number of exoursionisti left town this morning to attend the races at. Pdlmarstoo, Masterton, and Lower Valley. As yet not a single acoident is recorded. December 27. A guard named Miohael Bennett, employed on the Government Railways, broke his lee yesterday, in stepping from the Upper Hutt platform on to the railway line.
