ENGLISH CRICKETERS IN AUSTRALIA.

Thecrioket match between Mr Vernon'* team and an eleven of Adelaide was com* mericed yesterday, and was favored with fine weather. The Englishmen went first to the wickets, and when the stumps were drawn for the day the visitors had three wickets down for 205 runs. Stoddart 38, Abel 4, Peel 31. Received December 27, at 1.35 a.m. Adelaide, December 26. The match, Vernon's team v. Adelaide, was continned to-day. The visitors' first innings dosed for 381 rnnu, towards whioh O'Brien contributed 43, Read 183, and VBrnon 27. The Sooth Australians then commenced their first innings, and when time was called they had lost six wickets for 147 runs, Jarvis 75, being the principal scorer.
