INTERPROVINCIAL FOOTBALL MATCH.
(by telegraph.) Dunediit, August 28. For the interproviocial.football match between Otago and Canterbury to-day the weather is not very favorable, aa it is raining slightly. The betting is even, with a slight preference for the local men on account of the heavy state of the ground. There were three thousand persons on the ground. Canterbury kicked off, and in the first five minutes Allan by a brilliant pass to Millar gave the latter a flying shot at goal, which he missed through not sufficiently allowing for wind. At the end of the first spell Canterbury had been forced down twice and Dunedin once. Later. No score was made by either side, and th» match was drawn.
