Glasgow is a dark dappled bay, rising 7 years old, stands 17 hands high, was bred by MrL. Drew, and purchased by Mr D. Riddell, Blackball, and got by that well-known stallion Darnley (222), bred by Sir William property of Mr. David RiddelL Pauley; sire. Darnley won 2nd Prize at the Highland Sooietye the Glasgow Agricultural Soolety in 1876 and 1877; Ist prize at the Highland Society's Show at Edinburgh in 1877; and Champion Cup at the Highland and Agricultural Society's' Show at Dumfries in 1878. Darnley was the sire of most of the Ist Prize winners at the Glasgow Show last summer, also at the Highland Sooiety s Show, and of the mare that won the Cup at the Royal Sooiety's Shows at Carlyle, Kelso, and Glasgow; also of the Ist Three-year-old Stallion and of the Ist Two-year-old Stallion. Fleming, Knookdon, Maybole, Ayrshire, property of Mr. James Johnstone Loohhnrnle, Maryhill, Glasgow ; sire, Prince of Wales (673); dam Young Rosie (67), by Prinoe of Wales (669): gr. dam, Koeie, by Farmers' Glory (Hendries'). Princess gained Ist prize at the Highland and Agricultural Society's Show at Perth in 1871. Sanquhar, a son of Darnley, took Ist prize as a four-year-old at the Highland Sooiety's Show at Stirling in 1881. The Macgregor, half brother to Glasgow, and a ■on of Darnley, was Ist at the Highland Sooiety's Show held at Glasgow In 1882. Louisa, a daughter of Darnley, according to the Glasgow Herald, "has a long roll of honors, and '' won the red ticket" at the Society's Show of the same year.
