THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION.
The following are tho numbers polled yesterday in connection with the election of a member to represent Oamaru in Parliament:— Hislop. Reidhaven. Ceurthoose 361 335 North .-chool ... 32 14 South School ... 4G 29 439 378 Total, 817 ; majority for Mr Rislop, 61. Since last election the voters' list has been augmented by 50 names—loo names having been struck iff and 150 names added—and, with this fact in view, it is remarkable that tiiero were polled yesterday 57 votes less than were polled during the last election of a member for this constituency, the numbers of votes polled at last election being—For Mr Shrimski, 453; for Lord Reidhaven, 391; total, 874 ; a* against 817 Totes polled yesterday.
