RAILWAY MISMANAGEMENT. TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARU MAIL, i Sir, —In your publication of this evening I notice an advertisement signed W. M. Hannay, Trafiic Superintendent. If you will kindly look over the same you will see that there i 3 a great injustice being done to the residents of this district, namely, 30s return fare from here to Christchurch, and only the same sum from Dunedin. Now, sir, I, for one, would like to know upon what scale Mr W. M. Hannay makes his rates. He does not, to my mind, make any attompt to suit the public convenience, at any rate, so far as this district is concerned. Why we should be called upon to pay the same fare as those from Dunedin, seeing that there is a difference of 78 miles, is beyond my comprehension. Some time ago a requisition was sent from this town to Mr W. M. Hannay, calling his attention to this injustice, and praying that in the future he would give the very reasonable request his consideration. He replied, saying that he would see into it, and have the same rectified. He has done so, with a vengeance, by repeating the dose. Dunedin rules supreme with him.
