ATTEMPTED MURDER NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.

Christchtjrch, December 26.
A man named Gibson shot another named Kerison at Templeton, a few miles from Christchurch, on Christmas Eve. The two men were on bad terms, as Kerison's sister was living with Gibson as his wife, though unmarried, and a fortnight ago he took her away. Thi3 caused Gibson to threaten to shoot him. On an examination being held at the Hospital, it was found that Kerison's collar bone was broken, and the bullet is still somewhere in his body. The man's condition is precarious. Gibson was arrested this after.noon.
