Sire, Prince—Prince is a dark Bay, stands 16$ hands high, by Prince Charlie (imported); dam, Princess Maud the First, the Champion Mare in the Colony, the winner of 18 first prizes in Scotland, and several in Victoria. Prince has gained, many first prizes, and his stock cannot be surpassed. The Kyneton Agricultural Society awarded him first prize for the best four yearlings, competing against the stock of two imported horses. At a recent National Show in Victoria, a yearling filly by Prince gained first prize. He also took first prize at the Waikouaiti and Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Shows of 1572 and 1573 ; and the first prize at the Blueskin Agricultural aiid Pastoral Association's Show, 1873. A two-year-old filly by Prince, belonging to Mr. John Duncan, Cherry Farm, Waikouaiti, took first prize at Oamaru in 1876, and second at Taieri the same year. Prince has an excellent temper, immense bone, good action, is a sure foal-getter, and is acknowledged by competent judges to be the best Clydesdale Hoise bred in the Colony.
