(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) AUCKLAND yachtsmen taking part m ** the big ocean race to Tauranga will slip out of Waitemata Harbor .on Christmas Eve. Out into the Gulf and headed for the open sea, these hardy young sea rovers from the Waitemata iwili meet a real test of yachting on the long cruise down the coast. The winning keeler takes the Colin Norris Memorial Gold Cup for the year, a gold miniature, flag and *10 m cash. v The second boat gets £7 and the third £3. A champion flag goes to the yacht recording fastest time. The event was started back m 1921, when the Waione won. Appropriately enough, this veteran winner was among the first entrants for this year's race.
