It may be accurately advanced that the members of the Canadian bowling party which commenced ;• its tour ofthe Dominion this month are only mediocre exponents of the art of trundling the biased bowl, and that a selection from /any average-strength club m New Zealand would go far m the matter of giving the members a sound trouncing, OWING to adverse' weather conditions only three out of the five games scheduled to be staged were played, the test match against, the selection of players m the Queen City being abandoned. In the three games the Canadians completely, failed to produce anything like the standard of play evidenced m New Zealand. The Remuera tournament was a complete success, despite the fact that the play on one day had to be abandoned owing to weather conditions. No fewer than fifty-four teams entered and coupled with- another four teams playing at the same time constituted a newrecord for the Dominion, there being no fewer than 232 bowlers participating on the club's greens oh the one occasion. . The strenuous battle for the champion tanner of Auckland resulted m a complete victory for two of 'the old hands at the game."
