STILL GOING STRONG
WHAKATANE has a history ;all its own. and many are the stories told about the stirring times .in' the good old days. Noav a progressive little coastal toAvn, it still boasts the possession of a feAV of the "old-timers." One of these is George Creeke. Avho first came to Whakatane over 60 years-ago. Nearing 76 years of .age, he is still hale and hearty. He has been a staunch-friend of the natives, and one and all they have a good AA'ord for "Hori."
