TWO-MILER
Backmarkers'Hard Task In Stewards' (From , "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Ten were nominated for the Stewards', Handicap at Alexandra Park on Saturday and that lot saw out the acceptances. TT is . the- big trot of the day (worth 1 £400) and has a 4.38 limit. The. best of our square-gaiters are religiously catered for at headquarters and the class on Saturday is right up to expectations. From 102 yds. behind, both Trampfast and Young Blake are set posers, and were either to be first home it would be a wonderful exhibition. With the likes of Bingen Starr on the limit and old Tradesman on that mark as well, it is possible that the pace will be turned on from the word go. Rose Bingen and Cannonball may stay on better, than Betty Moko, but Napland has only to keep down to be a nuisance. Ngatira is such a solid goer that he will 'probably be m the fray throughout the two miles. Just how the brilliant Native Star will fare remains to be seen, for she has not faced for some time. Three possibilities are Bingen Starr, Ngatira and- Cannonball.
