MACHINE GUN'S PROSPECTS
May Be Expected To Show Up At Auckland Meeting r. a. McMillan's gelding is m trim ' (Prom "N.Z. Truth's" North, -Island Representative) . ■: •• When Machine Gun was exchanged for Bingen Starr, there were speculations as to which owner received the best end of the stick. .
"THE. deal was arranged between G. I /McMillan and R. A. McMillan, the last-named taking, possession of Machine Gun. , ; He had that pacer for six weeks before closing the. deal and on that score had a. little m his favor. However, when he stepped Machine Gun out he failed to do the trick, but his namesake has already seen Bingen Starr work the oracle. R. A. McMillan is an astute buyer and is unlikely to handle anything without prospects. That is why. interest will centre round Machine Gun's future doiners.
This Australian-bred pacer is booked up for the coming. Auckland meeting, and has only to be right to have a saty. Tra.ined at Tamahere qn his owner's private track, little is known concerning his recent try-outs. That, however, will be of small ; account, for if "Mac" steps him frut it will be taken for granted that he has comethrough a preparation m the right manner. Bingen Starr is also down to compete m trotting 1 events, so needless to say both .owners will take more than a little notice of each other's representatives' showings. •• • ••
