WET-WEATHER ECONOMT
DOAD and laboratory tests of motor tyres have resulted m the discovery that tyres wear at a very much slower rate on wet roads than on dry .roads, and also slightly less on cold roads than on . hot roads. In future, therefore,, motorists will not be so prone to "blind." the weather, as if they have more mud to clean off the body, they will be getting paid for it m less wear on their tyres. It is believed that the cause of a tyre wearing slower m wet weather is that the tyre does not come into such close contact with the road surface owing to the film of water being interposed. And, of course, the wetter the thicker the. film.
