Cogent Reason Why Association Should Be. Abolished

bROMINENT members of the sport have realized that it is time to abolish the New Zealand Trotting Association m favor of district committees. ' . . ■ v .

DURING recent -years the business end of the; game has scarcely been transacted m a manner that maintains full confidence. ■. The personnel of the board admits members that must at times, be at least unconsciously biased when their trainers are oh the mat for an alleged ■ breach of. the rules. Did not one member approach officials of clubs and endeavor to get them to soften the indictment against a trainer with whom- he was noticeably pally? committee that was dealing with an important case, which at the. time was sub judice. , " . „-' Is it any wonder that such clubs as Forbury and Auckland are out to abolish the Trotting Association? There is, no doubt, cause* for a change, and as district committees have given eminent satisfaction m the galloping sport, the same method would be preferable to trotting. Next year other clubs maY- wake up to the shortcomings of the Trotting Association. Then delegates will be instructed to support Forbury and Auckland m their endeavor to do away with the present method of control.
