THE MAKINGS
Jamieson's Second Derby String (From "N.Z. Truth's" /Special" AiickS| land Rep.) . : Perception, which formed one of J. T. Jamieson's team to Australia,, is looked upon as a very hopeful' proposition up north. ' ■■y t AS yet the son of Psychology — ** Amyrin, is a maiden, though he indulged m a little racing as a juvenile earlier m the season. His most impressive performances were at Paeroa and Ellerslie m the autumn. ' • .At the first-named country fixture he took the eye -of onlookers by a close third to Avon Court and Lucy Rose on a track which was hardly m favor of one of-- his massive proportions. At Ellerslie he was close up to the stake -earners m each of his starts and was marked down as a likely sort to do things as a three-year-old. He is an entrant for the rich A.J.C. Derby m the spring, and despite the fact .that the stable also, has Prince Humphrey 'engaged it -would not be surprising to note Fred Earl's colors carried on the day by Perfection. When last stripped m public, Perfection certainly looked the goods m the making. : } '"'.. '■■■.',
