WILL TRY CASEY OUT
Welter Champion Carroll Is To /^;;; ; /;;; : 14av«'- The Job
Harry Casey is one' of the best fighters to come to New Zealand m recent years, but at times he has not done himself justice.
CASEY is a peculiar mixture and it is his temperament that has perhaps been his worst enemy. He is far too easy going, always being content to let the rest of the eWorld go by. , . • Turned out m the pink of condition, he. is a match for any/welter m Australia or New Zealand, and, without boasting, Casey says there is nobody of his own weight m Australasia who can lick him. The .Wellington Association has given Harry an opportunity of proving those words. ' The Association has imported the welter champion of Australia— one Jack Carroll— and next Monday evening Casey will be turned loose. Carro|| struck a rough trip over ' and for a day or so he did not care , if it was Saturday or the previous Monday/ But he soon got oyer his bout with
Mrs. Mal-de-Mer and this week he has been putting m some good training. Voted as the -most improved boy m Australia^ Cai-roll is a thumper who thumps, and what is more he has some pace with it. A little niore time would, of course, have been to his and manager Sammy Chapman's liking, but they are both confident that all will be well. Casey has trained assiduously for this fight, and he is hopeful of getting further into the good graces of a Wellington audience. Of that neither ,Casey nor Carroll had need be at all doubtful — if they give of their best. ' ' And with a Casey meeting a Carroll something should happen. The usual good assortment of preliminary contests will give the rooters a little bit of practice m voice production. ■ ,
