DOCTOR FURTHER REMANDED
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Wellington Representative.) JOSEPH PATRICK HENNESSY, the young 1 Wellington docJ tor who has been charged with using an instrument to effect an illegal operation, will come before Magistrate Page at Wellington on Monday, April 23. The case, it has been intimated, will then be proceeded with. The doctor, who is 32 years of age, came up on remand last week, when, by mutual agreement, a fixture was made for April 23. Rather immaculately attired, the accused, who was driven to the court by a friend, merely made an appearance while the adjournment was being asked for. This time, however, Hennessy had retained the services of Lawyer R. Singer, of Auckland. Counsel intimated that although Chief -detective Ward desired a further short remand, the dates of his own engagements made it impossible. He suggested that Monday, April 23, would suit. Magistrate Page: "That is St. G-eorge's day, is it not?" Lawyer Singer: "I am hot sure to which saint the day belongs, sir." Chief -detective Ward agreed to the fixture, the magistrate giving his consent thereto. Substantial bail, as previously granted, was formally renewed. .._ '
