Vicious braking when the car is moving rapidly causes unnecessary and severe strains, and if continued will result m decreasing tyre life, loosening the wheel spokes, rapid wearing out of differential joints and the shaft keys may be sheared off. , It may even result m the total failure of the brake mechanism itself, just when a nasty accident. looks imminent. The average driver, drives on the brakes instead of the engine.
