GOOD LOT

To Contest The Seven To-day There is nothing wrong with the lot that are set down to contest the Seafield Handicap at Wanganui to-day. CEVERAL of them have shown form of late and the top-weight, Royal Game, has a win at the National to his credit. That success was a meritorious one and he may go close to repeating it to-day. Le Choucas, also m the open six, will have followers m whichever event he runs. / The doings of Lausanne, Valicare's brother, will be followed with interest, but it will probably be found that he is not forward enough. Beaumont ran second at Marton and will need to go better to win to-day. Over a furlong shorter Monaghan bolted m at New Plymouth and the extra journey will not trouble him. Thaw is said to be looking well and he should make it merry. Hipo just fails to do it right, while Cohesion goes fast early and then fades out. Joy Bird has not shown the form lately she once did, but there is nothing more consistent than Partaga. Bert Morris, however, will not be on top to-day. The other three do not look to have too much chance of beating a number above them. Royal Game and Monaghan have good recent form, with Thaw one likely to be m it.
