IT was common talk that the; authorities have been distinctly suspicious regarding ._■' her whereabouts for some time. A She raced m New Zealand as late as May; 1925. •..; '-A .V ' Shortly after Promenade was lost sight of by trotting enthusiasts and it is i understood she closely resembles a mare which raced - in' Australia and finally won under the name of "Gathered Gold" m Western Australia. The belief that Promenade's previous owner was temporarily m Australia at the time of Gathered Gold's last victory combined with: the marked > resemblance of the . two pacers aroused suspicions and the N.Z. Trotting Association got decidedly busy on the point. The result was that on March 15 a man named A. C. K. Edwards was disqualified for life for wilfully and corruptly supplying false information ; by .reporting the death of the mare Promenade and 1 or ; refusing to give information or to '.: make a written declaration respecting the said mare. 7 Developments have been going on eveV since with the result that Promenade's former „o wner-trainer, AW.
