A guardian angel to the youngsters who take advantage of the splendid facilities for instruction and pastimes afforded by the popular Wellington Boys' Institute, Mrs. James Hislop, wife of the Under-Secretary of Internal affairs is doing a gratuitous,

but noble work. Mrs. Hislop has been for some time px-esident of the Ladies' Auxiliary and is an assiduous worker •m all the social activities of St. Andrews Church. The T.W.C.A. also has the benefit of her activity.,. No charitable work is

beyond her sphere. . Her executive ability and her talent for organization have made her a very valuable member of Wellington's coterie of women social workers. Over all she brings a gracious courtesy and unfailing tact which is most helpful m smoothing out little difficulties as they arise. In connection with her husband s work, Mrs. Hislop has often been called upon to act as hostess to many important visitors from overseas from Royalty downwards.
