EXTRA DAY
Franklin Desires One (From "Truth's" Special Auckland Rpp.) The Franklin (Pukekohe) Racing Club is hopeful of eventually securing a second-day totalisatcr permit. IT was thought that the club would secure one of the permits dropped by Motueka and Waimarinp, but the recommendation of the conference went m favor of /Nelson and Waverley. The Franklin racing heads realize that they are up against it with only one day's racing, and until a second day is forthcoming there will be need to curtail capital expenditure. »' ' ■ . However, Franklin will dp its part as soon a's funds are available. The course is m order, but much is needed m the way of buildings and j training track's.
PVERY year at the National meeting *"■ a crowd collects alongside the kennels double and from the stand it is very difficult to see th© horses take the fences. They should be barred this week.
