THE fight m the opening stages was ■ uneventful, but' from the eighth till the seventeenth round it was one of the most exciting fights seen at . the Stadium for some time. •■ Gonzalves justified his importation for he was always willing to mix it. • While not engaged m slogging he gave a creditable boxing display. Esler on the other hand forced the fight throughout and being his , first appearance on a : Saturday night, acquitted himself very well. .
There were many toe to toe rallies m which Esler came out on top the majority.
