By Gum, He's For It!
AS a. stimulant to the tedious occupation of letter-sorting, . chewing gum would, appear to be the very thing needed. ; At least, Edgar Henry Millar, the 18-year-old Christchurch postal official, thought so, and this accounted for his action m relieving the Postmaster-General of 82 packets of gum which he filched , from a mail bag. But Edgar was bowled out and : was suspended. In his statement : to the .police he said that several other officials helped themselves to ' the gum at the same time, but he would not "give them away." So heroic Edgar, who prefers to suffer alone, will make his bow m , due course to the judge for sen- : tence. -.•_:_ ; QiiitiiuiiitiuiiiiiiiiiiuiiiiiiiiiiiftiiiiiitMiinni'!tiiniiiifiiniiniiiiiT)niniiui]iuiiHiniiHuniiiiniiittini^ - uiiiiiiiitiininiuuiiiHiiiiiiiiuiiiuiiiiiiiiiiißiiiiiuiiiiiiiuiiiiiujuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiuuiiuiiiiiiiiHuiituitiniti
