Signs of Slump " There appears to be a slight slump m the boxing game so far as professional matches are concerned, ; there only being two matches on , the horizon at present. They are between Purdy and Trowern at Wellington on February 15, and Volaire and Casey at Christchurch at the end of the month. The average New Zealanders love of the fistic art demands more than this, and it is hoped, that associations will sit up and take notice. . When it is realized that most of our^amateurs,' of whom we are so proud, get their ideas of the game from attending professional, matches, everything possible should be done to encourage the youngsters by keeping the game very much alive. ; / . It is always possible , for associations to get m touch with boxers' and their managers through "Truth." . '- " ■
