Beware of using sticks with sharp points- which may tear the carpet. ' * * ' Straw mjatting and seagrass mats may be cleaned with a large, coarse cloth dipped m salt and water and wiped dry. The salt prevents the matting from turning yellow. * # Glass dishes and bottles that have become cloudy may be cleaned by rinsing them out with powdered charcoal.
