Europe's Train-Ferries Feed London (From "Truth's" London Rep.) The train-ferry, by means of which trains cross water with passengers undisturbed; is making great progress m Europe. , ■ You can take a sleeper m Norway and get out m Berlin. All points m Sweden are likewise m the same close connection with the Central European countries. The only country which so far has not studied this passenger traffic aspect of the use of train ferries is Great Britain. But m goods traffic Britain has made progress, and there is a trainferry which has been running regularly for some time from Harwich to Zeebrugge. Every morning now a train runs into a goods station m London bearing the inscription of the German State railways, and carrying all sorts of merchandise, which has crossed, the North Sea during the night. Not only is this happening, but new trade is being opened up with Czechoslovakia; ; and fruit, eggs, butter, cheese, and . other perishable goods come over m tons every day from Austria, Italy, : Holland and Switzerland. The Italian railways have ordered a supply of huge cold storage trucks m. which to send grapes to England; and' in other ways, the Continental nations are showing an ever-increasing desire to supply this country with foodstuff's. Such developments must be to the eventual disadvantage' of the Dominions, especially Canada, South i Africa, . .and Australasia, who will find their markets usurped by .the men they once fought against as well' as' by their old allies. • It gives paused ' '
