Young Wife's Tale of Woe DIVORCES JOCKEY HOLMAN (From "Truth's" Palmerston North ! Rep.) "Get out of this house or I'll kick you out," the father-in-law was alleged to have said to the young wife of his son. The husband was m the room but did not interfere, rather joining m "telling her off." And so the girl left, and her baby remained behind. Mona Davis, of Palmerston North married Percy Holman, a jockey, of Hastings, on March 11, - 1922, and a child was born a little over three months later. From the start, she alleged, the parents of the husband were always rowing with her, and there was constant trouble over the baby. At last she was told to go, and, with her husband echoing the sentiments. Mrs. Holman junior left for her mother at Palmerston ..North with some money obtained from a nurse a£» a nursing home. She says she had never had any money from her husband or his relations. The short married life had never been happy. The parties had not lived together since, and the husband had retained custody of the child. A decree nisi was granted Mrs. Holman at the Supreme Court m Palmerston North.
