Barrier Positions WiUTell TALL TIMBER (From "Truth's" Special Auckland Hep.) 'The Welter Handicap at Avondale is likely to be a two division race, and punters are advised to tread warily. Barrier positions will probably count for a lot. Tall Timber proved by winning deeds m the hack class last season that he should make an ideal welter performer, for he is the right build, while Ruapapa is not overburdened with weight. Master O'Rorke is partial to soft going. . •■ Abbey Bell, King Pot, Le Choucas, Aberfeldy, Sir Archie, Gay Comet and Billikins all gave some promise of speed or beginning qualities m last season's efforts.
