Short Weight

Second and Disqualified Hall Mark had his first run m his new owner's colors at Riccarton (ast Saturday and he ran second. But he didn't get the money, for he was one and a-half poumls under weight after the pound allowed him was taken off. During the running ef the race three rubbers by some means or other came out from under the saddle. , The last one did not come unput till just off the post.. The whole thing: is a mystery to Percy Hazleman who saddled Hall Mark up. Everything was m order when the horse left the birdcage, and rider Jack Barry noticed nothing untoward ut the post. The rubbers came out yet the number cloth never shifted at all. It is one of those strange things m racing that cannot be accounted for.
