THE MESSAGE.
A young- man-was'walking l'along a lonely stretch of seashore, when the tide washed' up a bottle.' He picked it up and saw a slip of paper inside. For several minutes he refrained ' from extracting- the message, while toying with the idea that it must have been scrawled by some wreck survivor m an open boat or on a raft. Finally he broke the bottle's neck, cut his finger on a piece of jagged glass, and read: "Whoever discovers this bottle will find all the beer gone." I •
