(The Field Naturalists' Club made arrangements to take a party of American sailors on a wildflower-picking expedition, but none of the visitors turned up. — Australian cablegram.) / No botanist am I. The only plants That int'rest me are thosfe I eat — or those I drink, the nights the wife goes to her Aunt's. ... But even so, I '11 undertake to show you, 80, A bunch, pf wild flow 'rs you'll just rush to pick, Blooming m city air m plots of brick In ev'ry shade from lily-white : to rose! There's Daisy now— a bud, still half -asleep As if m wait for some warm sun to. rouse - ■ .- , Her; and, as someone else m song avows, "Daisies don't tell, : but do their counsel keep!" Pansy blooms full m petalled golden silk • (Golden is right — gosh help your next month's screw!) But, ah, she's sweet! Just one thing she won't do, And that's' reach home before the morning milk. Daphne is different; she's pink and white, And will remain so While the chemists last. This Life's too short for her; to put things right She pins her ears back hard and travels fast! Now Lily, you'd expect to be reserved, And so she is— reserved for Mister You. Lil, though an Arum early, I've observed , 'S a Tiger-lily when the stars come through! , And Violet! Ah, Boy, a queen, a prize! . And all by reason of her Goo-goo eyes! t "Which should she start to focus as you dance, You beat it home, 80, while you've got the chance. t Wildflowers, Wildflowers ! • . i Come to the garden, Bo!
