FORD MILES PER HOUR.

A correspondent, "Wager," writes inquiring "as to the miles per hour figures of the Ford m the recent Australasian 5-mile championship.'-' We learn from the Colonial Motor Company, Litd., that the Ford did not compete this year for the. Australasian ■five-mile record, as the record was held at the time of the Muriwai meeting this year by J. W. Andrew's Ford car. His record made m 1024 was .86.1 miles per hour. This year the Sunbeam reached 100.27 miles per, hour, thus making a new record. Perhaps our correspondent really means the N.Z. Motor Cup results. This is a race of 50 miles. Mr. Haydon's Ford m this race this year averaged 77.2 miles per hour. From reports received it appears that the above car was pulling into the lead when a slight accident caused it to drop. back. Eventually it finished m fourth place.
