A MESS. UP.
At Crowley Benefit. There was a mess up at the. Crowley benefit, which was to have been held last Monday night. The. crowd was there, and so were the performers, but when the police asked for the permit it was like Mother Hubbard and the bone— there wasn't any. Of course, without a' permit the show could -not go ahead. The failure of the promoters to get a permit shows a laxity hardly creditable; but still, there it was.
