Jury Disagrees-^-New Trial Ordered. 'The. trial of Frederick Peter Mouat, charged with having murdfered his wife,. ■ Nellie Mouat, at St. Martini, Christchurch, on or about February 19, came to an end a few minutes, before midnight on Friday of last week, when the jury, after a retirement of fiye and a-half hours, failed to reach ah agreement, and a 1 new trial was ordered for August. > . ■.-,
Thi'oughout the last day of the trial the Court was crowded to excess, and remained so during the absence of: the jury, and further crowds waited outside m the rain, waiting, as Lawyer Thomas put it m his address, to see whether Mpuat "was gbing == to pass -through one door to.
