Recovery After Bad ' Start.
The home side required 173 runs to win, but with the wicket still beautifully pliable from a bowler's point of view the chances did ' not seem very bright. Rain "set m about half an hour after the start. The Auckland innings, opened as sensationally as had Wellington's and the first four wickets fell for- 47. However, they scored the required- number of runs and ran oat winners by three wickets.
