Going South
The news was announced during the week that Mr. lan/ Duncan, the Waikanae studmaster, had : purchased Mr. J. B. Reid's property at Elderslie, and that m the near future the now famous Waikanae Stud will be no more. Mr. Duncan has held the Waikanae property on lease, for some years, but with the end of the leaseMn sight he had to look about for a suitable area to carry, on' his ; breeding operations. Elderslie coming on' the market presented a great opportunity and Mr. Duncan did not allow it to slip. All are sorry to see Mr. Duncan's admirably conducted stud leave this part of the world, but our loss is Oamaru's gain. ■
