And a development has made its appearance among the smartest Englishwomen. They are renouncing the cigarette for the more or less mild cigar. The makes produced for their special benefit ar,e smaller m size and of milder leaf than those intended for men.

Melbourne women exhibit no reluctance to adopt new ideas — however bizarre and- unbecoming. It will probably not be long before the fashionable restaurants and hotel lounges will witness the advent of-smartly-attired , dames and damsels with a fragrant cigar held between rouged lips.
