MAORIS AND WIRTHS' CIRCUS.!
Out yot curiosity "Truth" asked! among, its queries and quandaries of March 24 why Wirths* Circus employed so many Maoris as tent workers The interesting question has been answered by Mr. Geo. Anderson, General Manager for 'Wirths'. "The Maoris are a healthy, -strong people, and much liked by the Aussies," Mr. Anderson writes "Truth" from Rangataua. "They do their work well, are polite and sober, and are an Intelligent race. Travelling means knowledge, and with Wlrths' the Maoris have a -.chance of seeing other countries. Maybe it is a throw-back to the ancestral days, but it is certain they will travel only with Wlrths', by whom they are well treated. They know, also, they will be taken back home, if they so wish, the next time Wirths' visit New Zealand."
