CRICKET.
The touring N.S.W. team met North Taranaki at New Plymouth on Wednesday and Thursday, and, after an interesting match, they won by an innings and 23,3 runs. North Taranaki made 138 m the first innings and 103 m the second. Harry Lambert, the ex-Wellingtonian, was top sfiorer on each occasion for the butter province team, getting 27 and 32. The younger Bardsley topped the century for the Cornstalks, making a nicely compiled 117. He was ably assisted by Hendry (98), Ratcliffe (71), and Kippax (64).
