WEIGHING OUT.
At the recent meeting of the Te Arbha Club the weighing machine was not m •working order. With big fields engaged it is not satisfactory, to have to use platform scales. Officials of country clubs would do well to make sure before their meeting that everything is m working order so as to cause as little delay as possible m getting, the 'horses weighed out and into the birdcage. The use of heavy canvas saddle oloths should, also be done away with. Jockeys, who are striving to make a set weight, find it yery discouraging to have to weigh but with these pound and a half cloths, making them carry overweight.
