To Be Held Noxt Year.

Mr. T. P. Cummins, late of Dunedin. has been appointed by Mr. J. J. Walsh (Postmaster-General and Director of the forthcoming Tailteann Games) as representative for Australia and New Zealand on the central promoting council of tho big festival being organised ln Ireland to run during tho early weeks of August, 1924. Quito undaunted by last year's postponement. Mr. Walsh and his executive are satisfied that noxt year's Games will benefit from the time extension. Support Is guaranteed from every country where the Irish race la scattered and something In the nature of a big homecoming la expected. Every branch of indoor and outdoor athletics l« being catered for* — native music and art "will fill an important placo ln the scheme of reviving the ancient Irish Games of Tara. The famous Dublin Horso Shaw will bo run Into the same August period and a regular feast of entertainment Is promised for visitors. Australia sent ono brilliant athlete over for the date of the Games as originally fixed and he made a very favorable Impression. This was P. J. Carroll, the quarter- mite and halT-mlte runner, and lt Is hoped he will be the guiding spirit In next year's Australian team.
