If track work can bo taken as a criterion, Pirouette is sure to win a race, during the holidays. She is m great nick, and has been galloping very fast on the .tracks. She will be a starter at Awapuni, and it will take a good one to beat her.
Attractive is back m Wanganui after an unsuccessful trip to Auckland. The son of Absurd— Finery has so far been a disappointment.
Bert Russell intends taking Siaosl to Awapuni m company with Civility. The latter ,1* on the small side, and may find 9st 41b rather more than she ceßi handle properly.

Explorer is so well at present that his prospects of annexing a race at Ellerslle look very promising. He will bo a starter m the hurdles on the first day, and if the going is to his liking, hard and dry, ho should run one 'of his best races. His work on the track (on the flat) before leaving Wanganui was. first-class, his best effort being seven furlongs, comfortably, m lmin 30 3-6 sec.
Mr. J. G. Nicolls has also taken Battle Song north, and the veteran will also be a starter m the hurdle events. He has improved considerably since racing at Feilding.
Orchid Is a gelding worth keeping an eye on during the holidays. The son of Absurd — Gladlole has been showing wonderful pace on the tracks, and is one of the fastest on the coast up to Aye furlongs.
Dangle, a stable mate of Alarle, will bo taken to Awapuni for the Nursery Handicap, This youngster met with an accident while running m the Debutante Stakes at Wanganui, and had to be turned out for a time.
Gaillard has furnished into a goodlooking two-year-old, and his track work points to the son of Absurd running a big race ln tho Nursery at Awapuni.
