Extra Express and Mail Trains. From 14th December to Sth February, inclusive, except Christmas Day and Sundays— Leave Wellington 2.0 p.m;. Auckland arr. 7.50 a.m. next day. From 17th December to 6th January, inclusive, except Christmas Day and Saturdays— Leave Wellington 8.35 p.m., arrive Auckland 2.55 p.m. next day. . Sth January, relief train leaves Wellington for Napier 7.40 a.m., Palmerston North dep. 12.0 noon, Napier arr. 5.23 p.m. Between Palmerston North and Napier this train makes same stops as ordinary Wellington — Napier train and m addition stops at Poukawa. and Paki Paki to set down passengers. On 21st, 22nd, 24th, 29th December, and Ist, 2nd, 3rd, sth January, Napier — Wellington Down Mall train takes only for stations beyond Longburn on Manawatu line and Walrarapa line beyond Woodville. On 21st, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 27th, 29th. 31st December and Ist, 2nd. 3rd, sth January, Down Napier — Thorndon Mall train will not lift passengers from Tokpmaru, Johnsonville, and intermediate stations. On 24th, -2'(Jth Dee-amber, and Ist January the Wellington — Napier Mail train will not take passengers for Johnsonville, Paremata, Plimmerton. or Paekakariki On 21st, 22nd, -24th, 29th December, Ist. 2nd, 3rd. sth January, Wellington — Napier ordinary Mall train will not take passengers from any stations between Palmerston North and Paki Paki inclusive. Passengers holding through tickets on Wanganui line (beyond Palmerston North) or from stations on Walrarapa line will be permitted to join this train at Palmerston North and Woodville respectively. NIGHT TRAINS.— On 24th DECEMBER, night train for Wanganui and Napier leaves Wellington 11.0 p.m. Night train for Wellington leaves Napier 9.30 p.m.. Wanranul 11.45 p.m. On 24th DECEMBER-.-For PAEKAKARIKI. Wellington dep. 4.30, 11.25 p.m. The 4.30 p.m. train stops Ngaio and Khandallah only to lift passengers for North of Johnsonville: all other stations stops where required. The 4.13 p.m. train from Wellington takes passengers only for North of Paekakariki, and stops Johnsonville, Tawa -Flat, Porirua, Paremata, Plimmerton and Pukerua Bay only to lift passengers for North of Paekakariki: at all other stations stops when required. FOR MASTl3RTON— Wellington flop 4.55 p.m., Masterton arr. 9.20 p.m. Stops between Wellington and Upper Hutt only . to lift passengers for beyond Upper Hutt. Train leaving Wellington 4.16 p.m. for Masterton takes passengers only for Greytown. Clarevlllc, Waingawa, Solway and .Masterton, and. connectfi at Woodside with train for Greytown. On 25th DECEMBER (CHRISTMAS DAY) AND 26th DECEMBER (BOXING DAY)— Ordinary timetable will be suspended. For particulars of trains see Booklet. PALMERSTON NORTH RACES. On 2Cth, 27th, 29th December special Race trains leave Palmerston for Raceoourso 10..83. 11.15 a.m., and extra train on 26th at 10.50 a.m. Return trains for Palmerston leave Racecourse 5.15. 5.26, 5.44 p.m., and extra train on 26th — 5.56 p.m. On 2Cth December special passenger trains leave Wellington for Palmerston via Ruceeourse. 7.1S a.m. This train atopi* Ngaio. Khandallah, Johnsonville Porirua, Paremata, .Plimmerton, Paekakariki, Otaki, Lovin and Longburn for passengers.

The 6.35 a.m. Paekakariki — Palmerston train connects at Awapuni with train for Racecourse. Hastings and Napier leaves Racecourse 5.15 p.m. In addition, ordinary ' train for Napier leaves Waipukurau station 5.55 p.m. Free passes, season, privilege, tourist and v ' commutation, tickets (other than Press reporters* tickets and passes held by members of the Legislature) will not be available by the train leaving Napier at 7.50 a.m. and Raqecourse 5.15 p.m. Train leavos Palmerston 6.40 a.m., Dannevirke 9.5 a.m. Return train for Palmerston leaves Racecourse 5.41 p.m., Palmerston arr. 10.5 p.m. Special excursion tickets to Waipukurau Racecourse, available for return on day of issue only and'including admission to Course, will be obtainable at any- station between Palmerston, and Napier. *•• Tickets to Waipukurau, "Waipukurau Racecourse, or Hatuma, will not be available by the Mail train leaving Napier at 8.45 a.m. • Tickets from Waipukurau Racecourse and Waipukurau will not be available by Mail train leavlnff Waipukurau at 4.26 p.m. Goods traffic will be suspended and goods sheds closed on 25th, 26th December Ist, 2nd January.
