The Egmont Cup this year Is run over one mile and a half and is worth 800 soys. The principal distance on the second day is the Tonks Stakes of one mile and a quarter, worth 500 soys. The principal sprints each day carry 356 soys and 300 soys respectively.

The late president (the late Sir R. H. Nolan) is commemorated by the Nolan Cup, a hack race of 400 soys, including- a cup valued at 50 guineas, presented by Lady Nolan.

Marqueteur is to be taken tb Manawatu, but will be back m time for Stratford and so will some other Taranaki horses.

Ernie George scored another win Hipo at Te Awamutu. The probability is that Stork and Hipo will return home before the holidays.
