A Consistent Performer. For consistency the performances of the Wanganui Cup wdnner are hard to jeat. From January 1, 1921, he has only ieen unplaced twice out of eighteen starts. Starting at Marton m. the New fear he finished second m both hack mrdle races. His next appearance was it Wanganui, where he won the Wiritoa -lack Handicap, finished third dn the Vicory; Welter on the same day, and was iinplaced m the Autumn Handicap. Coning to Rangitikei he won the Scott, Mem-u-ial and the Open Welter. In May he .scored'in the Century Hurdles and. was 'hard m the May Hurdles. He was taken 'io Ellerslie but went sore and was spelled ■ ill November, .when he won the Open Welter at Ashhurst, and. the..fallowing -veek finished third m the' - Welter' at •'eilding. At New Plymouth at Xmas he pon the Handicap on the second day, jnd next finished second m the Marton 'up. and won the President's Handicap, foxton saw him win the Cup and finish second m the President's. Handicaps came the Wanganui. Cup victory, '.nd his unplaced performance m the 'Hakes. Despite the.fact that-the horse vas an outsider • at Wanganui the win .vas received with great cheering, whiGh nust have greatly pleased the horse's Avner. None of the cognoscenti would nave the hurdler to win a Wanganui Cup, and as one "head" remarked, "Bull may , no-fr all about jumpers, but not Cup norses."
